Ciao amici!

My name is Kara, I'm 15, from the country-bumpkin part of Pennsylvania. Just today, I found out I won a scholarship to go to Italy for 10 whole months to study abroad. I'm still in the utmost shock that it's actually happening. Thinking about it, next year at this time, I'll be in a different country. Speaking a different language. Going to a different school. Hanging out with different friends. Living with a different family in a different house. Yowzah.

As you may have been able to tell from possible errors in grammar, I don't know diddly squat about Italian or the Italian culture. I just punch things into Google Translate and hope for the best, like any curious human does. I created this blog so maybe I'll remember to document my time spent in Italy, and to keep up to date with family and friends, because Facebook posts would get annoying and I don't want to be "that" person in everyone's feed...

So, I hope you enjoy this blog. It might be a total flop, knowing how much of a procrastinating bum I am, but I sure hope that I keep this up and through my trip. Enjoy!
